By combinin' vintage ship log looks with modern sorcery, it offers a deeply immersive piece o' interactive fan yarn.

Two Paths to Resurrection

Simple Commands vs. Fine-Tunin'

The conversatin' spirit ye interact with on this vessel uses a simple but mighty long command overlaid on a trained model (currently OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini via OpenRouter). It relies entirely on the model's pre-existin' knowledge o' the Sprawl Trilogy and in-context sailin' orders.

In contrast, the actual www.dixieflatline.ai galleon uses a much grander approach. It runs a custom LoRA fine-tuned on NousResearch's Hermes-3-Llama-3.1-8B model. This model was explicitly trained on a curated trove o' Sprawl-authentic parley, deflections, and specialized epistemic constraints.

While the command version here provides a fun approximation, the fine-tuned Hermes 3 LoRA delivers a significantly more sturdy, stylistically true, and character-locked experience that resists standard mutinies and modern anachronisms.
